HER2 Book Launch Hosted by SVU NY Chapter with BBLA Support

On October 2, 2024, the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU), New York Chapter, in collaboration with the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association (BBLA), hosted a book launch event for HER2: The Diagnosed, The Caregiver, and Their Son at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City. The evening featured authors Anna and Jordan Rathkopf, who shared their family's personal journey through breast cancer, as depicted in their book. Dr. Magdalena Lombardi Plasilova, an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and a breast surgical oncologist, was a special guest at the event for a panel with the Rathkopfs to discuss the intersection of art and science, focusing on patient experiences, early detection, and survivorship.
